HAPPI uses public NASA mission data to investigate terrain, accessible rock and natural gravitational energy for Martian settlements. Research and manuscript preparation are ongoing.

MOLA provides elevation and terrain information; CRISM provides clues to surface composition and minerals. Coordinates, data formats, calibration and interpretation require planetary-specific treatment.
